Adobe's web development innovation department, Adobe Labs, announced a new, prerelease version of the Spry JavaScript library. Spry is termed as an AJAX framework, and is essentially a collection of JavaScripy code that helps developers create rich internet applications. According to the development team, Spry allows designers to build pages that provide a better experience for
their users. It is designed to bring AJAX to the web design community
who can benefit from that technology, but are not well served by other frameworks. Spry helps designers to incorporate XML data into their HTML documents
using HTML, CSS, and a minimal amount of JavaScript, without the need
for refreshing the entire page. The new release responds to several issues reported by users since the initial relase of the technology. A detailed change log for prerelease 1.2 is available at labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/changelog.html. Demos of Spry's capabilities are also provided at the Adobe Labs website, including an image gallery and a RSS reader. Spry can be downloaded for free after completing a registration with Adobe.
